5-Day Luxury Greater Kruger Safari at AM Lodge

From: EUR € 5.250,00

Welcome to South Africa! This is the moment when your safari gets underway, and after a few brief formalities, you'll head out to start a journey where you'll be looking for animals and enjoying that amazing South African safari experience.
Greater Kruger is one of Africa’s great safari destinations. No matter whether you’re a first-time visitor seeking a quick Big Five fix, a repeat safari-goer hoping for quality time with African wild dogs or cheetahs, or a dedicated birdwatcher wanting to tick off some of the 500-plus bird species. This vast protected area is centered on the 19,485km² Kruger National Park, but it also incorporates 3,500km² of private and community-owned reserves, and wildlife can cross freely between their unfenced borders.
You'll love the warm light and cooler temperatures as we take you out to explore on your evening game drive. This time of day is when both predators and prey are most active and it can feel as though anything could happen at any moment. This is when you'll most enjoy being on safari.
Extending for 600km² either side of the namesake river, Klaserie Nature Reserve was established in 1969 as a pure wilderness area, and only recently reinvented itself as a tourist destination. As a result, it has the wildest feel of any private game reserve in the Greater Kruger ecosystem – the sort of place where you might see only one or two other vehicles on a game drive. Klaserie is home to all the Big Five, including some unusually habituated leopards, and guided game drives tend to be conducted in a leisurely manner, allowing you to make the most of any given sighting, rather than racing around trying to tick off as much as possible.
Put on some warm clothes and enjoy an early morning game drive. This is the perfect time to experience the wildlife and the landscapes they inhabit. The light is soft and warm – perfect for photography – and most animals are out and about, and active. If you’re not an early riser, you’ll definitely want to make an exception here.
Imagine being out in the soft, early morning light, wrapped in a blanket, just as the animals emerge from their night’s rest or from the shadows of their nighttime adventures. The world feels fresh and new on an early morning game drive, the sun has yet to beat down upon the earth, and it may end up being your favorite time to be out on safari.
