3-Day Pilanesberg Budget Safari near Johannesburg

From: EUR € 1.100,00

This is the moment when your journey begins. By choosing South Africa, you've almost guaranteed yourself an incredible safari experience, with so much wildlife to look forward to. After a few brief formalities, you'll head out to begin discovering just what we mean.
Situated in an extinct volcanic crater to the northwest of Johannesburg, the Pilanesberg Game Reserve ranks among Africa’s finest malaria-free safari destinations. Established in the 1970s and restocked with all the Big Five, this 550km² reserve should provide you with great elephant, buffalo, white rhino, giraffe, zebra and antelope encounters. With a bit of luck you might also see lions, leopards or other large carnivores.
Put on some warm clothes and enjoy an early morning game drive. This is the perfect time to experience the wildlife and the landscapes they inhabit. The light is soft and warm – perfect for photography – and most animals are out and about, and active. If you’re not an early riser, you’ll definitely want to make an exception here.
We return to the scenic Pilanesberg Game Reserve in the hope of seeing some of the varied wildlife we missed the first time around.
Going on an evening game drive is one of the highlights of any safari. This is when temperatures cool, the light becomes softer and the wildlife begins to get active. Not only will you be out when the light is best for taking photos, but it's also one of the best times of day for seeing the animals.
