Your safari starts here, and because you chose Namibia, you have so much to look forward to, both in terms of landscapes and wildlife. After dispensing with a few formalities, it really is time for you to get out and start exploring.

Welcome to the oldest desert on the planet. You'll love exploring this incredible place, a world of sand seas that run right down to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, and barren mountain ranges that have their own haunting beauty. Wildlife in the desert can be elusive, but the prizes, when they come, can be extraordinary in some areas.

Staying at Namib Desert Lodge is a form of deep desert immersion, thanks to the big desert horizons that surround the lodge; the property sits at the foot of fossilized sand dunes. The lodge itself has big rooms with tiled floors, and the public areas (including the swimming pool, bar and restaurant) all look out across the desert.

Day 2

Sossusvlei

You'll be exploring Sossusvlei, an exceptionally beautiful sand sea that's filled with sand dunes of the most beautiful shapes and, near sunrise and sunset, warm sand colors. Climb a sand dune to look out over the desert, search for the perfect combination of sand ridge and silhouetted acacia tree for your Instagram selfie, or just sit back and enjoy the view.
